¿Somos los futuros influencers en la educación? (Are we the future influencers in education?)

Hoy en día está muy de moda el término influencer, y lo vemos como una persona a la que seguimos porque nos gusta su contenido, sus experiencias o lo que nos muestra de su vida y sus gustos. Y, si lo relacionamos con la educación, podemos ver que un profesor o tutor se podría entender como un "influencer" en su especialidad, ya que nos muestra sus gustos en esa materia, sus conocimientos y muchas veces nos llega a influir mucho en nuestra vida. Pero también podríamos relacionarlo con otros términos como coach educativo, orientador o asesor. Entonces...¿qué tienen en común y en qué se diferencian estos términos?
Empecemos con sus puntos en común:
- Creo que estos cinco términos se relacionan en que pueden aparecer en un ámbito educativo y de apoyo a alumnos, profesores o familias.
- Además, todos tienen un trato humano, es decir, en todas se busca influir a personas para enseñarles valores y conocimientos que les pueden ser útiles en su vida.
- En un principio, tratan de sacar lo mejor de las personas y guiarles o darles los puntos clave para que puedan desenvolverse y aprender de los errores.
- Un coach educativo trabaja con estudiantes y les ayuda en su proceso académico y personal. Esto lo hace ayudándole a desarrollar habilidades de estudio, motivarse o saber gestionar el tiempo entre otros.
- Un tutor es el que apoya de manera individual al estudiante en una materia específica. Les ayuda a entender y saber resolver los desafíos que esa materia plantea, ya sea relacionada con ciencias o idiomas.
- Un orientador es el que asesora a los estudiantes en el ámbito personal y académico. Les apoya y ayuda en la toma de decisiones sobre su futuro académico, en sus emociones o actitudes entre otras.
- Un asesor aporta orientación y asesoramiento a los estudiantes en el ámbito académico, personal y profesional. Estos asesores suelen estar especializados en un área como un asesor de carrera.
- Un influencer se ve menos común en el ámbito académico, pero es una persona que tiene una influencia en otra a través de redes sociales. Tienen el poder de inspirar y motivar a sus seguidores en aspectos educativos o ayudarles en ciertos aspectos.
Creo que, aunque de primeras veamos el término influencer como el más alejado en la educación, cada vez hay más gente que sube a redes sociales contenido relacionado con la educación y la enseñanza y que muchas veces nos puede enseñar muchas cosas interesantes y de una manera distinta a la que vemos en una escuela por ejemplo.
Por eso, dejo por aquí algunos influencers que sigo o veo y que me gusta su contenido, ya que lo relacionan con la enseñanza y la educación.

Nowadays the term influencer is very fashionable, and we see it as a person we follow because we like their content, their experiences or what they show us about their life and tastes. And, if we relate it to education, we can see that a teacher or tutor could be understood as an "influencer" in his specialty, since he shows us his tastes in that subject, his knowledge and often influences us a lot in our life. But we could also relate it to other terms such as educational coach, counselor or advisor. So... what do these terms have in common and how do they differ?
Let's start with their common points:
- I believe that these five terms are related in that they can appear in an educational environment and support students, teachers or families.
- In addition, they all have a human touch, that is, they all seek to influence people to teach them values and knowledge that can be useful in their lives.
- In theory, they try to bring out the best in people and guide them or give them the key points so that they can develop and learn from their mistakes.
Although we have brought out some things in common, let's see how they differ:
- An educational coach works with students and helps them in their academic and personal process. This is done by helping them to develop study skills, motivate themselves or know how to manage their time among others.
- A tutor is the one who supports the student individually in a specific subject. It helps them to understand and know how to solve the challenges posed by that subject, whether it is related to science or languages.
- A counselor is the one who advises students on personal and academic matters. It supports and helps them in making decisions about their academic future, their emotions or attitudes among others.
- A advisor provides guidance and advice to students in the academic, personal and professional fields. These advisors are usually specialized in one area such as a career counselor.
- An influencer is less commonly seen in academia, but is a person who has an influence on another through social media. They have the power to inspire and motivate their followers in educational aspects or help them in certain aspects.
I think that, although at first we see the term influencer as the most distant in education, there are more and more people who upload to social networks content related to education and teaching and that often can teach us many interesting things and in a different way than we see in a school for example.
Therefore, I leave here some influencers that I follow or see and I like their content, as they relate it to teaching and education.
